Make your own pesto in a marble mortar, the traditional way. Enjoy trofie pasta with your own pesto, accompanied by our local wine. You'll receive a jar of pesto as a gift. You can also purchase the mortar!
Discover the culinary soul of Liguria through an authentic masterclass at our family workshop, BioTigullio5Terre, located in the heart of Genoa's historic center, at Via di Ravecca 51r, just a short walk from Christopher Columbus' House.
You will learn to prepare authentic Genoese pesto using a Carrara marble mortar and a wooden pestle, in keeping with local tradition. Each participant will create their own pesto using fresh, authentic ingredients: PDO basil, Parmesan cheese, pecorino cheese, pine nuts, garlic, and extra-virgin olive oil.
At the end of the class, we will enjoy a plate of trofie pasta with pesto made using your recipe, and we will raise a glass of one or two local wines: Vermentino, Pigato, or Ciliegiolo del Tigullio. To conclude, you will receive a complimentary 90-gram jar of long-life Pesto Genovese to take home.
Our experience is led by a Ligurian family with deep ties to the pesto tradition.
One of our instructors is Gaia, who was among the youngest finalists at the 2026 World Pesto al Mortaio Championship in Genoa, an international competition that recognizes the best practitioners of the Genoese tradition.
During the masterclass, we will share not only a recipe, but a true culture made up of the authentic techniques, aromas, and stories of the region.
An immersive experience in Ligurian cuisine, surrounded by aromas, flavors, and family stories.
